Have a Go Program: Empowering Confident Travel

24/07/2024

At Transdev John Holland, we're committed to making public transportation accessible and empowering for all.

Last week, we partnered with Uniting War Memorial Hospital’s aged rehabilitation centre to help re-introduce their health and wellbeing program participants back into society by teaching them how to use public transport safely and independently.

This is part of our ongoing collaboration with the hospital to assist those re-entering community life and first-time bus travellers to learn essential skills through training and hands-on experience:

🗺️ How to plan a trip and which bus to take
🚏 Where bus stops are located and the best way to access them
đź’° How to pay the bus fare and transfer between services
🚪 Boarding tips, including signalling for stops and using wheelchair ramps or lifts
⏰ What to do if they miss the bus or have a change of plans

Did you know? Our “Have a Go Program” has been named as a Finalist in the Customer Service Institute of Australia’s Australian Service Excellence Awards in the Category of Customer Service Project of the Year.

We’re proud to foster inclusivity through our ‘Have a Go’ program, empowering individuals with assistance and hands-on experience to confidently navigate our network and promote accessible travel for all!
