Media Release: Transdev John Holland raises record funds for Sydney Children’s Hospital

01/08/2024

Transdev John Holland has achieved a significant milestone by raising $12,600 for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation through its inaugural charity golf day.

Held on 26 July at Cabramatta Golf Club, the event attracted participation from about 100 industry leaders and staff.
The day featured an exciting 18-hole golf tournament, complemented by a silent auction and a delightful lunch, all contributing to the fundraising efforts.

Mark McKenzie, Managing Director of Transdev John Holland, expressed immense satisfaction with the outcome, emphasising the importance of supporting local communities.

“As a leading bus operator, we have always been proud to support the wonderful communities we serve. We are absolutely thrilled to be able to hand over the highest amount ever raised through our annual charity golf day to a fantastic charity partner that supports kids with cancer and their families,” he says.

“This is our first year of running this event. It is an outstanding result and I am so thankful to everyone involved for their generosity and contributions to an enjoyable and successful day.

“Special recognition was given to Bruno Martino, Head of Assets, for his instrumental role in organising the event and fostering partnerships with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.”

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation’s (SCHF) Head of Corporate Giving, Michal Cohen-Noble, was delighted to be part of this fantastic event and thanked everyone involved for their incredible generosity.

“On behalf of the children and families who need our help today, and the many more who will in the years to come, we are so incredibly grateful for the continued support of Transdev John Holland, and the sponsors and supporters,” Cohen-Noble says.

“Your support of SCHF will enable world-class clinical excellence, the best possible patient experience and the discoveries of tomorrow through cutting-edge research across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. Together, we are making a transformative difference to the lives of sick children and their families for generations to come.”
