The good news is that we came 3rd in the TfNSW Christmas Bus competition at KDNB Brookvale bus depot this morning.

The official guests were Parliamentary Secretary for Transport, Marjorie O’Neill and Howard Collins, Coordinator General at Transport for NSW.

Howard Collins gave us a special mention for the innovative tinsel on the windscreen wipers.

The official judge was 8-year-old John From the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

John announced our bus in the top three as the ‘Bondi Pokémon Bus’ with a beaming smile!

Our Waverley Bus Driver and Christmas bus co-designer Leon Sharpe was interviewed by Channel 9 News, journalist Mike Dalton. You can watch the 9news bulletin segment: Bus crowned as winner in Sydney’s Christmas decor competition (9news.com.au)

Second place went to KD Northern Beaches, from the North Sydney depot and the winner was CDC Bus.

Thank you to everyone for your support and Christmas Spirit to volunteer your time and energy to help decorate and coordinate the operations for the Christmas Bus.

Well done to the Randwick Depot as well for their spectacular bus, especially Zak Russell and Mauro Bastos. The competition rules were that we could only take one bus from our region, we wish we could have entered all  three buses.

We have received 98 compliments for the Christmas bus so far compared to 50 received last year for the whole of December!

Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings.

121 compliments were received for the Christmas bus compared to 50 received last year, from our community!
