NAIDOC Week 2025: This is just the beginning of our journey!

07/07/2025

We recently unveiled our Indigenous artwork by incredible First Nations artist Billy Reynolds on NAIDOC Week. It was more than a celebration - it was a commitment to action!

Soon, our Sydney community will see Billy’s powerful artwork bringing “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy” to life across our bus network in various shapes and forms. As we travel together on this country – the traditional lands of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples – these vibrant symbols and totems of unity will remind us daily of our shared responsibility in reconciliation.

Huge thanks to our community leaders who joined us:

  • Aunty Barb for Welcome to Country
  • Dr Marjorie O’Neill MP, Member for Coogee
  • Kevin Heath, a well-respected First Nations community leader
  • Billy Reynolds, a proud Yuin and Dharawal artist
  • Waverley College for the smoking ceremony
  • La Perouse United Junior Rugby League Football Club

Your presence shows the strength we have when we work together!

But this artwork is just our first step. At Transdev John Holland, we’re committed to meaningful action in the Indigenous space – from partnerships and training programs to creating real opportunities for First Nations communities.

The dots in Billy’s artwork represent each of us, but they also represent opportunities to do better, be better, and build a future where Indigenous voices lead the way forward.

This is our beginning, not our destination.
