Media Release: Transdev John Holland Drives Men’s Health Awareness with Mo-bile Campaign

29/11/2024

Transdev John Holland Bus (TJHB) has raised $5,000 to support men’s health after its Port Botany Bus Depot finished on top in a competitive Movember fundraising campaign.

Drivers, mechanics and office staff from three TJHB bus depots at Waverley, Port Botany and Randwick, took part in over 25 stylish hair cuts and mo tidy ups to raise the fundraising total.

Our “Shave the Day” held at Randwick Bus Depot on Wednesday 27 November, marked the finale to the month-long campaign. Professional stylists from Just Cuts Randwick converted the depot into a pop-up barbershop as people queued for their final moustache buzz shaves.

Transdev John Holland Managing Director Mark McKenzie said what began as moustaches on buses evolved into something truly special.

“We raised a lot of money, got some heartwarming responses from our customers and prompted countless conversations about men’s health, which is exactly what we wanted,” Mr McKenzie said.

Just Cuts Randwick owner Bianca Manning said the energy at Shave the Day was incredible.

“Our stylists were proud to be part of such a meaningful campaign,” Ms Manning said.

“Watching these Mo Heroes come together, share stories and support each other while raising awareness for men’s health – it’s exactly what Movember is all about.”

Campaign Highlights:
• 450+ buses sporting moustache decals across Sydney
• 25+ moustaches shaved and haircuts given at the “Shave the Day” event
• Three depots engaged in fierce fundraising competition
• Countless conversations about men’s health sparked across Sydney’s transport network

Transdev John Holland was proud to be part of the Movember movement and helping drive social change in more ways than one – one smile, one conversation, and one kilometre at a time.
