Overview

The Communication Advisor provides specialist advice on all communications initiatives and activities to support the successful delivery of Transdev John Holland Buses (TJHB)'s strategic plan and objectives. This pivotal role supports communication activities through planning, stakeholder mapping and content development.

 

Responsibilities

As the Communication Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering and implementing a broad range of communications projects that promote TJHB's strategic objectives and priorities to internal and external stakeholders and partners. Your role will involve planning and delivering effective communication campaigns for various initiatives and programs, utilising a mix of channels and tools. Additionally, you will produce and edit high-quality communications materials, including newsletters, brochures, reports, presentations, web content and social media stories.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Write, edit and proofread content for digital and print media, including web and intranet pages, social media, content plans, newsletters, speeches, detailed government documents, reports, broader marketing campaigns and more.

·      Support and assist the business in developing and executing communication strategies and campaigns to increase our reach among target audiences.

·      Manage media enquiries, assets and briefs, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information with an understanding of media dynamics.

·      Support key events and campaigns across the organisation, including planning, coordination and execution.

·      Develop, execute, optimise and report on campaigns.

·      Support the Social Media and Graphic Design Advisor in developing social media content, implementing schedules and monitoring daily platform activities.

·      Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their communication needs and provide strategic guidance and support.

·      Build positive and enduring stakeholder relationships to strengthen TJHB's position and reputation with customers.

·      Support the Customer Experience Team with the successful implementation and maintenance of customer engagement programs, e.g., 'Schools Safety Program' and 'Meet our Managers'.

·      Support Transdev Australasia's Communication teams and other internal functions to deliver various initiatives as required.

·      Maintain and update the asset library, contacts list and archive relevant communications.

·      Ensure branding and editorial consistency across all communication collateral.

Additional responsibilities include liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and accurate messaging and branding, as well as evaluating and reporting on the impact and outcomes of communications activities using relevant metrics and feedback.

 

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

·      A tertiary degree (Bachelor level) or certificate, or proven experience in a relevant area of expertise (e.g., public relations, communications, stakeholder management, marketing).

·      Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and nurture productive working relationships.

·      Flawless written and verbal communication skills.

·      Demonstrated experience in successful planning and delivery of projects and ongoing management of key stakeholder relationships.

·      Demonstrated experience preparing a range of communication materials (both digital and offline).

·      Demonstrated experience in event management.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva and basic understand of Adobe Creative Suite.
